Are you a fan of indulging in kiwi fruit? Packed with essential nutrients like vitamin C, dietary fiber, vitamin K, and potassium, it offers benefits beyond just mental well-being.

Miami, FL (Periodical News) – Renowned for its tangy sweetness, kiwi fruit stands out as a beloved nutritious option, offering potential enhancements to vitality and mood. According to the latest research from the United States, kiwi fruit not only enhances the immune system but also improves mood and promotes mental health.

Global mental health issues are becoming increasingly serious, with emotional disturbances such as anxiety and depression affecting many people. According to data from the World Health Organization, over 300 million people worldwide are affected by depression to varying degrees. At the same time, anxiety disorders are even more prevalent, affecting over 200 million people’s lives. However, a recent study published in the British Journal of Nutrition suggests that the fuzzy green kiwi fruit may help improve these psychological problems.

Researchers recruited 155 adults with vitamin C deficiency for the experiment. Participants were divided into three groups, each receiving different treatments daily: vitamin C supplements, placebos, or two kiwi fruits. Subsequently, participants recorded their daily vitality, mood, sleep quality, and sleep patterns using smartphones. The experiment lasted for a total of 8 weeks.

Researchers found that the group supplementing with kiwi fruit improved vitality and mood within four days, peaking at 14-16 days, with vitality improvement observed from day 14 onwards. On the other hand, the group supplementing with vitamin C showed slight mood improvement only around day 12.

Lead author Dr Ben Fletcher believes that understanding the subtle differences in the timing and manner of these effects occurring daily helps us understand the potential benefits of vitamin C-rich foods and supplements for mental health. Even when participants had good mental health, improvements in their condition were observed after supplementing with kiwi fruit or vitamin C, with relatively faster effects observed with kiwi fruit consumption.

As a delicious and nutritious fruit, kiwi fruit not only has various benefits for physical health but may also be an effective way to improve mood. Enjoying one or two kiwi fruits daily not only supplements sufficient vitamin C but also contributes to mood stability and upliftment.

However, besides eating kiwi fruit, maintaining a healthy diet, getting enough sleep, and engaging in moderate exercise are also essential. If experiencing prolonged feelings of low mood or anxiety, seeking professional help is advised to find suitable methods to improve mood.
